Devnagri India's own AI-powered translation tool goes on Shark Tank.
Nakul Kundra and Himanshu Sharma, the Founder’s of Devnagri, had the vision to make content accessible to all and overcome the linguistic barriers by conversing with people in their language and creating stronger connections. To bring this idea to life, they created Devnagri, India’s very own AI-powered human translation platform, tailored especially for Indian languages.
As a budding brand in the translation industry, the challenge was to create brand awareness for Devnagri, which got its big break when it entered the biggest television craze of recent times- Shark Tank India. This extremely popular show helps talented individuals and start-up brands to bring in exciting business concepts, which may be the next big thing.
The audience was amazed when Devnagri introduced India’s first ever instant translation tool that gives contextually accurate results. The sharks were impressed by the exceptional idea, praised the vision, and provided the funding, but Devnagri had to turn down the offer as they felt the shark’s vision did not align with theirs. The brand’s participation in Shark Tank was a golden chance to strengthen the brand’s identity and recognition.
We used this opportunity to grasp our audience’s attention on social media platforms. We combined interest with information and designed different posts and videos around how to pitch, suggestions, and tips on entrepreneurship, along with reels and memes to widen our reach. The response was outstanding, and our videos got millions of views.
To further engage the audience and build the founders’ profile, we planned a hub activity where the founders talked about their experience on the show and shared their journeys as entrepreneurs with the viewers. As a result, we received an immense organic response. We observed an 800% growth in Google searches and gained 1.9K YouTube subscribers. The Facebook and Instagram organic page reach went up to 6.7k and 1.3k.
Overall, leveraging Devnagri’s Shark tank glory and creating brand awareness was a great success.
